There are pitfalls and things to know for any type of journey. By plane, some tips can make you gain greatly in comfort or serenity, so we advise you to keep this list handy to prepare for your flight.
Wear loose, comfortable clothes. Shoes that are easy to remove and put back on, for example, leggings or jogging, a cotton T-shirt. You can always change before landing or on arrival if you want to present a more polished look.
Take a piece of warm cloth: sweater or plaid. It will act as a blanket in case of a cold snap, or as a cushion for a nap. If additionally you have sprayed it with your home air freshener before leaving, it will provide you with a soothing "Home sweet home" reminder for the whole trip.
Adopt quality earplugs. Nothing is more frustrating than having a snoring or talkative neighbor, or a restless or crying child. Hearing protections allow you to have a peaceful flight without being disturbed by situations beyond your control.
Stay hydrated. Drink lots of water, put drops in your eyes, apply moisturizer to your face and hands. The body is quite abused, especially on a journey of several hours, so it is important to preserve it.
Bring some reading material. Whether it's an e-reader, a physical book or even wordgames, it can be nice to stock up on activities that you enjoy. We never know when we can be facing a faulty screen, so be equipped, just in case.
Pack a flight bag. In the same way that you have arranged a bag in the hold and a bag in the cabin, which you will store above your head, it is useful to stuff a small bag with the essentials to keep close to you during the flight: passeport, earplugs, phone, water, sweater, book, and a pen for instance.
Stretch your legs. As much as possible, depending on your seat and your neighbours, try to get up and stretch as often as possible, to relax your muscles and avoid getting stiff when you get out.
