Suitcase essentials

Let's start with the elements without which we shall not cross the border, or at least not without consequence.

  • Passport (or identity card if the passport is not necessary for your destination). Make sure well in advance -that is to say not the day before departure- that you do posess the visa if necessary, and that its expiry date is far enough away. Many countries require passports to be valid for at least six months after the return date.

  • Credit card(s). Of course you can go through the GooglePay or ApplePay oh so convenient options, but in the event of a problem, in particular theft or loss of your smartphone, it is better to own a physical card. Moreover, keep in mind very few destinations are covered everywhere in terms of wifi or even Internet network.

  • Smartphone. It's still possible to travel without it, but let's be honest, it's pretty rare and a different kind of journey. It is however preferable to opt for an old or inexpensive model when traveling, in order to avoid too much attention or covetousness.

  • Driving license, if possible international, if you want to be able to go around independently once there.

Electronic devices and accessories

E-asy

Not essential strictly speaking, these electronic objects nevertheless have an undeniable facilitating power.

  • Computer or iPad, for the aficionados. The best is still to equip yourself with a compact model that will not weigh down your luggage unnecessarily.

  • Universal Adapter. First check if you would need it where you are going, as it depends on the regions. We strongly recommend investing in a universal adapter, which provides the majority of sockets used in the world and a USB output.

  • Backup battery. Given the number of electronic objects in one's possession, this product allows us to go out all day without worrying about not being reachable or missing photos.
